unlocking new

deuterated molecules

Safer, faster, and radically more accessible.

About Deuterize

Born from pioneering research at the University of York, Deuterize is transforming isotopic labelling with robust, user-friendly deuteration technology.

Deuteration is the process of introducing deuterium, a heavy non-radioactive isotope of hydrogen, into molecules. Unlike ordinary hydrogen, deuterium has an extra neutron - and that subtle difference can profoundly change how molecules behave.

We provide a new way to access molecules containing deuterium, expanding their applications in biomedical research, synthesis, spectroscopic analysis, material science, and new markets.

Our Technology

Our user-friendly deuteration technology enables fast, high-precision labeling of chemical compounds - from small molecules to proteins - using off-the-shelf reagents in simple, open-air setups. We achieve deuteration in minutes at room temperature without relying on deuterated solvents or gases, all while delivering high-quality products with excellent efficiency.

The Problem

Deuterated compounds are vital for research and development, yet producing them is often complex, costly, and potentially hazardous. Traditional methods require specialised equipment, high temperatures or pressures, and dangerous reagents, making access difficult for many labs. This creates a major bottleneck in research and innovation.

Value Proposition

Our technology makes deuteration safer, faster, and radically more accessible, unlocking new deuterated molecules and markets that were previously out of reach.
